About Us
Who We Are
We’re a small team of Filipino telecom enthusiasts and community volunteers based in Makati who built TM SIM Registration PH to help our neighbours navigate the SIM‑registration law. When the Philippine government signed the SIM Registration Act (Republic Act No. 11934) in October 2022, it required everyone to register their prepaid and post‑paid SIM cards using a valid ID to curb cyber‑crime, phishing scams and anonymous spam messages. TM – previously called Touch Mobile – is the value brand of Globe Telecom; it started in 2001 focusing on affordable call and messaging services and now serves lower‑income and rural communities. As the registration deadline approached, many TM subscribers—especially elders and those without reliable internet access—struggled to complete the online form. Witnessing family members and neighbours risk deactivation, we pooled our technical knowledge and created this independent, community‑run site.
Our Mission and Values
Our mission is to make TM SIM registration clear, accessible and trustworthy for every Filipino. We do this by:
Demystifying the law. The SIM Registration Act aims to protect Filipinos from growing scams and cyber‑crimes by requiring SIM card registration. We translate complex legal requirements into plain Filipino and English so you can understand why the law matters and how to comply.
Providing accurate, step‑by‑step guides. To register a SIM, users must fill out an online form and submit a government‑issued ID; foreign nationals need additional documents like a passport and proof of address. Our tutorials walk you through each field with annotated screenshots so nothing is left to guesswork. We personally test every guide before publishing.
Upholding data privacy and safety. The law requires telecom companies to protect registration data under the Data Privacy Act of 2012, and personal information can only be disclosed under strict legal conditions. We never request your ID information; our role is to show you where and how to register safely.
Staying current and transparent. We monitor updates from Globe Telecom, the National Telecommunications Commission and consumer groups. When authorities extended the registration deadline because only around half of active SIM cards were registered, we immediately updated our articles and notified subscribers.
Championing digital inclusion. TM’s affordable plans made connectivity possible for low‑income families. Our work continues that spirit by bringing clear, free information to rural barangays, seniors and anyone who needs extra help.
What Sets Us Apart
Local expertise. All of us live and work in Metro Manila. We’ve registered our own SIM cards, assisted neighbours at barangay centres and interviewed TM store clerks about common errors. Our first‑hand experience means our guides address real‑world hurdles—like poor signal, invalid ID formats and portal glitches.
Evidence‑based content. We reference authoritative sources such as the official text of the SIM Registration Act, government announcements and reputable telecom news. For example, we explain that the law applies to both prepaid and post‑paid SIMs and that failure to register can lead to deactivation and penalties.
Community collaboration. Users can leave feedback or ask questions via email or the contact form. We adjust our articles based on your experiences—whether you’re a student in Cebu encountering OTP delays or a worker in Davao registering a SIM for a senior parent.
Transparency about who we are. We are not affiliated with Globe Telecom or the TM brand. TM SIM Registration PH is an independent information resource created by volunteers. Our content is free to access, and we never display intrusive ads.
Our Story
This project began when several of us—relatives and friends who work in telecom customer service, IT support and digital rights advocacy—started fielding constant questions about how to register TM numbers. We noticed that mainstream guides often focused on larger networks or were filled with jargon. In February 2025, we decided to create a site dedicated solely to TM users. Operating from our base near Paseo De Roxas, Ayala Center in Makati, we spent late nights building tutorials, translating forms, and verifying information against official sources. Within weeks, strangers were thanking us for helping their grandparents avoid SIM deactivation.
Commitment to Quality and Trust
We understand that misinformation can be dangerous—especially when it involves personal data. That’s why each article undergoes multiple checks:
Research and verification. We cross‑check details with the official SIM law, Globe’s announcements and government advisories. For example, we cite the law’s objectives to tackle cyber‑crimes and phishing scams and highlight TM’s role as a value brand for low‑income users.
Practical testing. We attempt the registration steps ourselves using different devices and network conditions. If a step fails, we find out why and provide a workaround.
Peer review. Another team member reviews the draft for clarity, completeness and accuracy. Only after these checks do we publish updates.
How We Sustain This Site
This website remains free because we believe that knowledge about digital safety should never be pay‑walled. We fund hosting and maintenance ourselves and occasionally receive small donations from grateful readers. We do not sell user data, display pop‑ups or promote products. Instead, we rely on the goodwill of our community; if our guides help you, share the link or tell others.
